    Bringing families together

A 2-day retreat for families that want to explore new territories, learn new skills and bond with each other in a simple, yet refreshing manner. The retreat starts on Saturday evening with a healthy dinner, followed by a drum circle where you will experience the joy of rhythm and percussion. Sunday and Monday will be filled with workshops to help you bond with your family. The retreat price includes: facilitation of all activities, meals (lunch and dinner) and tea and snacks twice daily. It does not include accommodation and breakfast.

The retreats are playful in nature and full of workshops and activities that parents can participate in together with their children. These include Clayful Joy, Creativity with Sound, Theatre Games, Drum Circle, Cycle Ride, Creative Family Games and Acro Yoga! Workshops usually begin with exercises and games that help people enter into a spirit of playfulness, develop trust between the players and raise the energy levels of the group.

In one of the workshops, the group takes part in an Art Therapy practice where participants create both on an individual level or as a family. Through drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, clay, photography and mixed media, participants experience "family" in a playful, nurturing and supportive manner.

Minimum age for children: 8 years.

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the family retreat, as we spent time together in an environment that was actively engaging both of us. Sometimes, we had our individual activities and sometimes we enjoyed the company of each other and created something together. We liked the richness of the programme and gained a good insight into Auroville's vast and creative environment. The group of 5 families, which spontaneously formed was great and we had a lot of fun. We truly can recommend a retreat like this for the whole family, as how often do we have the opportunity to spend an entire weekend together, in nature and while being engaged with each other on a continuous and constrive basis? A big thanks to you, organising team.
